Visit of BSPU professor to Mathematikum museum
The associate professor from BSPU Almas Sherbaf has visited the Museum Mathematikum in Giessen (Germany) in the framework of the EU project MOST - Mobility Scheme for Targeted People-to-People-Contacts.
Mathematikum is the world first science interactive museum, which offers a huge variety of mathematical hands-on exhibits. It was founded by Albrecht Beutelspacher, a German mathematician..
The purpose of the Mathematikum is to let people of any age, gender and any qualification learn mathematics by personal experience, rather than teaching it using formulae or equations and hardly ever numbers and symbols. The visitors can therefore learn, by participating in more than 150 interactive exhibits in the museum and by gathering, a different mathematical experience from each of the exhibits.
The trip purpose was both to get to know the unique museum pedagogical methods and modern trends in the mathematical education and to meet the famous mathematician Albrecht Beutelspacher.
Since 1988 he is a tenured professor for geometry and discrete mathematics at the University of Giessen. He became a well-known popularizer of mathematics in Germany by authoring several books in the field of popular science and recreational math and by founding Germany's first math museum, the Mathematikum. He received several awards for his contributions to popularizing mathematics. He has a math column in the German popular science magazin Bild der Wissenschaft and moderates a popular math series for the TV-Channel BR-{\displaystyle \alpha }α (educational TV).
I`ll do my best to introduce and develop in Belarus the experiences and ideas, presented here, says Almas Sherbaf. She is very thankful for such brilliant opportunity to MOST program and Goethe Institute in the Republic of Belarus.

Grants of BRFFR.
On the grants of Belarusian Republican Fund of Fundamental Research the workers of BSPU carry out the following international projects:
• "Production and research of crystals and thin films of haycockite Cu4Fe5S8" (supervisors – Susan Schorr, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor of the Institute of Geological Sciences of Berlin Free University; V. R. Sobol, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor, Dean of Physics Department of BSPU);
Within the framework of the project the procedure of producing a new chemical semiconductor compound is being developed. It defines the regularities of influence of the chemical contents of volumetric and film samples on the physical characteristics of haycockite (Cu4Fe5S8), including electroconductivity, optical transparency, magnetization, thermal stability. The results will provide a higher efficiency of using solar energy.
"Belarusian and Azerbaijani as a factor of development and strengthening of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Azerbaijan" (supervisors – Shukurbeili Tavakkul Gadi oglu, Doctor of Philology, Manager of research laboratory "Word Center" of Baku Slavic University; V.
